Mascara tubes, lip balms, powder, and blush ons are my makeup staples. I find that a few strokes of mascara, a touch of lip balm, a few dabs of face powder, and a hint of blush can easily make my day. I guess this is the reason why I can’t resist buying these kinds of makeup.

For this post, I’d like to talk about VMV Ooh La Lash Mascara. I just love how this product looks. The packaging is just so sleek! But the most important question is: Does it deliver?

I have been using VMV Ooh La Lash Mascara for quite some time now. Actually, I use it everyday. Yep, that’s how much I like this product. So how exactly does it fare compared to other mascaras? Well, it is a volumizing mascara. And it does great wonders for me. What I like most about this feature is that the volume it adds to my lashes look natural. I do not get the spiders-legs look from using this product. That’s a major plus for me, but I suggest getting another brand  if you’re going for the voluminous look.

Next, the VMV Ooh La Lash mascara does curl the lashes. Sadly, the effect doesn’t last that long. I’m not sure if my lashes are just stubborn, but it seems like the curls don’t stay all day. For this product’s price, I’d expect that it had an all day (or at least almost 8 hours of) curl power. Nevertheless, you can always use your lash curler if you want to maintain the curl throughout the day. Another thing I noticed about this product is that it doesn’t smudge. At all! I have a tendency to rub my eyes really hard, but the mascara stays put. Nice, right?

Now let’s get to another question. Is it waterproof? It depends. How so? My eyes tend to get dry within the day and I need to use eye drops. No problem there. I can use my eyedrops anytime and I’d be confident that the mascara won’t smudge. On the other hand, I was wearing this mascara when I heard that a great friend passed away. As you may have guessed, I seriously cried my heart out. It didn’t matter that I was wearing mascara, all I knew is that I lost someone I truly cared about (but that’s for another post, so I won’t talk about it here.) Looking back on that sad day, I remember that the VMV Ooh La Lash mascara didn’t smudge. It, however, got “washed” off my lashes. You could see little lash-like substances on the tissue I used to wipe my tears away. Other than the mascara getting washed off, I didn’t get black streaks of ruined mascara on my face. So I’m guessing it’s safe to use even on really rainy days. No need to worry about being poured on and ending up with racoon eyes.

So basically, the VMV Ooh La Lash is a winner in my book. What I like about this product are the following:

1. This gives volumized and natural looking curls.

2. No racoon eyes.

3. Easy to apply.

4. Very light on the eyes. No irritation whatsoever.

5. Light mascara smell. Doesn’t give my sensitive nose any problems.

What I don’t like about the VMV Ooh La Lash:

1. Price is a bit steep for a mascara. Costs PhP 1,200 if I remember correctly.

2. Curl duration could be better.

Would I recommend it? Yes, given that you have extra budget. On the other hand, you can find other great mascaras at more affordable costs if you’re a little low on cash.
